BIOS Health – Machine Learning Researcher
Competitive Salary, dependent on experience, and company share options.
Compensation and benefits package that promotes health, finance, life:work balance and professional development.
BIOS is unlocking the potential of the nervous system in treating chronic disease by using AI-powered neural interfaces that can automatically read and write neural signals. The human nervous system carries vast quantities of data and scientists have long known that faulty signals in the nervous system play a key role in driving chronic diseases. By understanding and correcting these signals in real time, BIOS can treat chronic illnesses in an effective, automated, and personalised way, leading to seamlessly experienced healthcare.
About the role:
BIOS are looking for a candidate with a strong research background in machine learning and good coding skills to work on world-changing, completely unique projects for neural engineering applications. At BIOS they solve hard problems and would like someone who equals their enthusiasm, creativity and vision to work on their machine learning research.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Perform research to apply machine learning (particularly deep learning and Bayesian techniques) to biological data.
- Recommend research directions for applied projects: assess the scope of the problem, identify where to apply machine learning, and evaluate different approaches.
- Integrate new research ideas into applied projects.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to design and run experiments using both new and existing algorithms.
Communicate experimental results and research findings clearly and efficiently, both internally and externally, across different levels of audience understanding.
